If you have no dial tone

Unplug all devices connected to the telephone line including; satellite dish, computer Internet, answering machine, and telephones. This will eliminate equipment problems. Plug in one at a time in an attempt to find the culprit. Also remember, some telephones may require new batteries.

If none of these options are successful, try to connect a phone directly to the NID (network interface device). The NID is the box located on the outside of the house. Leaf River Telephone Company is responsible for service up to this point. Take a working phone outside and plug into the phone jack on the customer side of the NID to test the connection.

If you have trouble to report

Call 815 738-2211 to report trouble with your telephone service. After-hours and on weekends, please leave a message with your name, address, the phone number which is having trouble, and a phone number where we can reach you. Someone will look into your problem as soon as possible.
